Robert Baratheon (Game of Thrones): ESTP

Dominant Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Robert is concerned with the pleasures of the moment. He doesn’t actually want to rule. He enjoys the fun parts of being king, but has little patience for the day to day responsibilities that go along with it. His main interests in life include drinking, hunting, and sex. “I’m trying to get you to run my kingdom while I eat, drink and whore my way to an early grave.” Robert’s lavish tastes and tendency to spare no expense during tournaments put the kingdom in a great deal of debt, which then fell into the hands of Ned Stark, who simply couldn’t believe how much money they owed out. Robert places a lot of value on physical strength and being able to defend oneself, and is openly disgraced to learn that Joffrey allowed himself to be disarmed by a little girl. He enjoys fighting and handling weapons, and when Ned tells him to leave the jousting for the younger men, Robert says “Why, because I’m king? Piss on that. I want to hit somebody!” He also tend to take rash physical action in the heat of the moment, and strikes his wife without thinking in a fit of rage after she insults him.

Auxiliary Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Although he is ruler of the Seven Kingdoms, Robert doesn’t have much patience for running things. He doesn’t enjoy organizing things and people, and prefers to delegate those tasks to others while he goes out drinking or hunting. Robert’s sense of logic is internal and he has a very good sense of humor. He has a good grasp on irony and is able to make jokes even in the most dire of situations. Robert is blunt, sometimes brutally so, and he can be very harsh to those he deems incompetent (such as Lancel). Robert assesses situations and comes to his own rationales. He’s able to detach from his emotions in order to make decisions. There are no subjects that can’t be discussed. While Ned is horrified at the idea of killing Daenerys, Robert believes it’s the only thing to do. Yes, Daenerys is practically a child, but she has to die because she is a potential threat. Case closed. While Cersei is demanding that Arya’s wolf be killed for biting Joffrey, Robert has little interest in the conflict. They’re kids! Kids fight! Let’s just each discipline our own kids the way we each see fit and be done with it! He doesn’t actually want to sentence the wolf to death, but…

Tertiary Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: … he also sometimes makes decisions based on what other people say. He doesn’t want to hear Cersei carrying on anymore, so, fine, the wolf dies. He doesn’t like settling conflicts and dislikes the tension that exists between his family and the Starks. He wants Daenerys dead because he spent his youth attempting to overthrow the Targaryens, and he’ll be damned if he allows Daenerys to return to Westeros to take back the kingdom. On his deathbed, he takes back his decision to have Daenerys killed after heeding Ned’s advice. When Cersei wants Ned punished for Catelyn taking Tyrion prisoner, Robert refuses to take action until he hears Ned’s side.

Inferior Introverted Intuition [Ni]: Because he is so preoccupied with enjoying his life, Robert gives little thought to the future. All he knows is that he wants to keep the Iron Throne, but he gives little thought to the steps he needs to take to ensure he remains on it. Instead, he tends to leave the grunt work to his small council instead. He doesn’t foresee Sometimes, Robert gets fixated on one idea. After learning of Daenerys’ pregnancy, he is able to (accurately) predict that someday she will cross the Narrow Sea in a bid to take back the Iron Throne, and Robert wants to make a preemptive strike by assassinating her before she ever gets the chance to try.

Jafar (Aladdin): INTJ

Dominant Introverted Intuition [Ni]: It’s Jafar’s greatest ambition to usurp the Sultan, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make that dream a reality. He wants Agrabah to bow to him and is extraordinarily patient in his quest. Everything Jafar does is a carefully thought out piece of his overall plan of ruling the kingdom. He spends years searching for the Cave of Wonders. When he finally finds it, he sends a man in to retrieve the lamp, which is all part of his long-term vision of using the Genie to make himself all-powerful. However, when he realizes he can’t just send anyone into the cave, he remains patient until he can identify the “diamond in the rough.” He’s certain that he will get what he wants eventually and doesn’t get worked up when he faces obstacles (unlike Iago). Jafar is able to manipulate the Sultan (even when he’s not using his cobra staff to hypnotize him) and typically knows exactly what to do and say to get what he wants from him. Jafar instinctively doesn’t trust “Prince Ali” and is very skeptical about him and proves himself correct when he catches a glimpse of the lamp, allowing him to deduce that he’s actually Aladdin.

Auxiliary Extroverted Thinking [Te]: Jafar is all about seizing power and being in control. No matter how much he has, it’s never enough for him. Jafar doesn’t hesitate to take action and will do whatever he has to in order to overtake the kingdom. He doesn’t care who he has to hurt to get the lamp and gladly sacrifices whoever he has to in his quest for power. Jafar can sometimes struggle to see beyond the facts of the situation. Jasmine will have to marry a prince, and once that happens, she’ll get rid of him. It doesn’t occur to him to change the rules so that Jasmine must marry him, allowing Jafar to become sultan – that idea comes from Iago. Jafar is strategic about accomplishing his goals. Once he discovers that Aladdin is his diamond in the rough, he has him arrested in order to use him to get the lamp.

Tertiary Introverted Feeling [Fi]: The only feelings of any value to Jafar are his own. He holds everyone around him in contempt and believes himself to be superior. Jafar doesn’t discuss his personal feelings and appears to completely lack empathy. Jafar only bothers with those who can help him achieve his goals. He knows what he values (power, authority, control), and he won’t allow anything to distract him from his mission to take over the kingdom. Once he gets everything he’s ever wanted, he uses his power to control the people around him to show them who’s boss now.

Inferior Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Once Jafar finally gets a taste of the absolute power he’s always craved, he begins to act recklessly in the moment. He wants to enjoy all of the pleasures that come along with the status he worked so hard for. Although his original plan was to kill Jasmine, he changes his mind and even gives into his lustful urges by attempting to use his last wish to get her to fall in love with him. When he gives in to it, he forgets to think ahead, allowing himself to be tricked into becoming a prisoner of the lamp. His desire for authority leads him to act on impulse, which leaves him susceptible to manipulation. Both Jasmine and Aladdin are able to pick up on this and use it to their advantage to defeat him.

Note: I’m sure that some people will think I’m stereotyping. I know of some people who argue that Jafar can’t be an INTJ because of how impulsive he became once he got the lamp. I think that was just a grip experience, though. Jafar spent a very long time singularly focused on just one goal and didn’t stop until he made it a reality. Then, when the moment came and he finally got everything he ever wanted, he reveled in it, which led to his downfall. Giving in to the urges of the moment at the very end doesn’t discount everything leading up to it. Someone with higher Se would probably have a much better handle on it than Jafar does. My aunt was the only INTJ I’ve ever known in my life, and when she was in the grip of Se, it was not a pretty picture.

Note: (He shows a lot of 3 and 8, so deciding his main type was difficult and I’m not 100% confident about which actually takes precedence)

Jafar: At last, after all my years of searching, the cave of wonders!
Iago: Awk! Cave of wonders!
Gazeem: By Allah!
Jafar: Now, remember! Bring me the lamp. The rest of the treasure is yours, but the lamp is mine!

Iago: I can’t believe it. I just don’t believe it. We’re never gonna get a hold of that stupid lamp! Just forget it. Look at this. Look at this. I’m so ticked off that I’m molting!
Jafar: Patience, Iago. Patience. Gazeem was obviously less than worthy.
Iago: Oh, there’s a big surprise. That’s an incred–I think I’m gonna have a heart attack and die from not surprise! What’re we gonna do? We got a big problem here,a big prob-
[Jafar pinches his beak shut.]
Jafar: Yes, we do. Only one may enter. I must find this one, this… diamond in the rough.

Iago: I can’t take it anymore! If I gotta choke down on one more of those moldy, disgusting crackers… bam! Whack!
Jafar: Calm yourself, Iago.
Iago: Then I’d grab him around the head. Whack! Whack!
Jafar: Soon, I will be sultan, not that addlepated twit.
Iago: And then I stuff the crackers down his throat!

Iago: With all due respect, your rottenness, couldn’t we just wait for a real storm?
Jafar: Save your breath, Iago. Faster! [He places the Sultan’s ring in the contraption.]
Iago: Yes, o mighty evil one.
[Iago runs faster. A lightning bolt streaks through the ring, passing into an hourglass below. The sands begin to swirl.]
Jafar: Ah, sands of time– reveal to me the one who can enter the cave. [The sand in top forms the Cave of Wonders. It falls through into a storm, but it shows Aladdin climbing up a ladder, followed by Jasmine, who is covered in her cloak.] Yes, yes! There he is. My diamond in the rough!
Iago: That’s him?!?! That’s the clown we’ve been waitin’ for?
Jafar: Let’s have the guards extend him an invitation to the palace, shall we?

Sultan: Jafar, this is an outrage. If it weren’t for all your years of loyal service… From now on, you are to discuss sentencing of prisoners with me, before they are beheaded.
Jafar: I assure you, your highness, it won’t happen again.
Sultan: Jasmine, Jafar, now let’s put this whole messy business behind us. Please?
Jafar: My most abject and humblest apologies to you as well, princess.
Jasmine: At least some good will come of my being forced to
marry. When I am queen, I will have the power to get rid of you.
Sultan: That’s nice. All settled, then. Now, Jasmine, getting back to this suitor business. Jasmine? Jasmine!
Jafar: If only I had gotten that lamp!
Iago: I will have the power to get rid of you! D’oh! To think–we gotta keep kissing up to that chump, and his chump daughter for the rest of our lives…
Jafar: No, Iago. Only until she finds a chump husband. Then she’ll have us banished–or beheaded!
BOTH: Eeewww!
Iago: Oh! Wait a minute! Wait a minute! Jafar? What if you were the chump husband?
Jafar: What?
Iago: Okay, you marry the princess, all right? Then, uh, you become sultan!
Jafar: Oh! Marry the shrew? I become sultan. The idea has merit!
Iago: Yes, merit! Yes! And then we drop papa-in-law and the little woman off a cliff! Kersplat!
Jafar: Iago, I love the way your foul little mind works!

Jafar: Sire, I have found a solution to the problem with your daughter.
Iago: Awk! The problem with your daughter!
Sultan: Oh, really?
Jafar: Right here. “If the princess has not chosen a husband by the appointed time, then the sultan shall choose for her.”
Sultan: But Jasmine hated all those suitors! How could I choose someone she hates?
Jafar: Not to worry, my liege. There is more. If, in the event a suitable prince cannot be found, a princess must then be wed to… hmm… interesting.
Sultan: What? Who?
Jafar: The royal vizier! Why, that would be… me!
Sultan: Why, I thought the law says that only a prince can marry a princess, I’m quite sure.
Jafar: Desperate times call for desperate measures, my lord.
Sultan: Yes… desperate measures…
Jafar: You will order the princess to marry me.
Sultan: I… will order… the princess… to… but you’re so old!
Jafar:The princess will marry me!
Sultan: The princess will marry… What? What is that? That music! Ha ha ha. Jafar, you must come and see this!

Iago: We gotta get outta here! We gotta get– I gotta start packing, your highness. Only essentials. Travel light! Bring the guns, the weapons, the knives and how about this picture? I don’t know– I think I’m making a weird face in it. [Jafar starts to laugh wildly.] Oh, boy–he’s gone nuts. He’s cracked. [Iago flies down to him and knocks on his head.] Jafar? Jafar? Get a grip, Jafar! [Jafar grabs him around the neck] Good grip!
Jafar: Prince Ali is nothing more than that ragged urchin Aladdin. He has the lamp, Iago.
Iago: Why that miserable–
Jafar: But you are going to relieve him of it!
Iago: Me?

Genie: You know Al, I’m getting really–I don’t think you’re him. Tonight, the role of Al will be played by a tall, dark and sinister ugly man.
Jafar: I am your master now.
Genie: I was afraid of that.
Jafar: Genie, grant me my first wish. I wish to rule on high, as sultan!

Aladdin: Genie! No!
Genie: Sorry, kid–I got a new master now.
Sultan: Jafar, I order you to stop!
Jafar: There’s a new order now–my order! Finally, you will bow to me!

Jasmine: We’ll never bow to you!
Iago: Why am I not surprised?
Jafar: If you will not bow before a sultan, then you will cower before a sorcerer! Genie, my second wish–I wish to be the most powerful sorcerer in the world!

Iago: Ladies and gentlemen, a warm Agrabah welcome for Sorcerer Jafar!
Jafar: Now where were we? Ah, yes–abject humiliation! [He zaps Jasmine and the Sultan with his staff, and they both bow to him. Rajah comes running at him. He zaps Rajah, and the tiger turns into a kitty-cat.] Down, boy! Oh, princess–[lifts her chin with his staff] –there’s someone I’m dying to introduce you to.

Jafar: It pains me to see you reduced to this, Jasmine. [He takes a bite out of the apple she is holding.] A beautiful desert bloom such as yourself should be on the arm of the most powerful man in the world. [He waves his finger and a crown appears.] What do you say, my dear? Why, with you as my queen…
Jasmine: Never!
Jafar: I’ll teach you some respect! [She falls back as he raises his hand to slap her. Then he stops.] No. Genie, I have decided to make my final wish. I wish for Princess Jasmine to fall desperately in love with me.
Genie: Ah, master– there are a few addendas, some quid pro quo-
Jafar: Don’t talk back to me, you stupid blue lout! You will do what I order you to do, slave!

Jafar: You little fool! You thought you could defeat the most powerful being on earth!
Iago: Squeeze him, Jafar–Squeeze him like a–awk! [Genie elbows him out of the way]
Jafar: Without the genie, boy, you’re nothing!
Aladdin: The genie! The genie! The genie has more power than you’ll ever have!
Jafar: What!!
Aladdin: He gave you your power, he can take it away!
Genie: Al, what are you doing? Why are you bringing me into this?
Aladdin: Face it, Jafar- you’re still just second best!
Jafar: You’re right! His power does exceed my own! But not for long!
[Jafar circles around the Genie.]
Genie: The boy is crazy. He’s a little punch drunk. One too many hits with the snake
Jafar: Slave, I make my third wish! I wish to be an all powerful genie!
Genie: All right, your wish is my command. Way to go, Al.

Jafar: The universe is mine to command, to control!
Aladdin:Not so fast, Jafar! Aren’t you forgetting something? You wanted to be a genie, you got it! And everything that goes with it!

Madison Clark (Fear the Walking Dead): ESTJ

Dominant Extroverted Thinking [Te]: Madison is all about control and authority. She’s intelligent, domineering, methodical and always has a plan up her sleeve. She does whatever she believes she needs to do, regardless of ethics or morality. Madison’s concern is keeping people alive. She can’t be bothered with their feelings. When Madison first realizes the gravity of the situation they’re in, she is able to shift gears completely and evolves into a fierce leader. She is decisive and wants to get things done. Even though she doesn’t actually know what’s wrong with her yet, Madison is ready to kill her neighbor, Susan, until Travis steps in and tells her that there might be a cure for her ailment. She is intelligent and logical and always prepared to take action. When she decides that she and her family will remain at Broke Jaw Ranch, she tells them that they’ll make that happen by any means necessary, even if they have to take the place over themselves. Madison is a natural when it comes to giving orders and making tough calls, and has a certain level of respect for individuals who have “command.” When Madison begins trying to groom Troy (she can see that Jake isn’t prepared for this role), she tries to inspire him by telling him he has what it takes to be a leader and tries to encourage him to gain control. She tries to make rational decisions, which are often construed as cold and heartless, such as her decision to kill Jeremiah in an attempt to create peace with Walker’s people. Madison wants results. She often charges into situations guns blazing without taking the time to consider all of her options. Sometimes, she takes action without really stopping to ask enough questions about what she’s up against. She just wants to jump right in and get the job done, even if that means getting people hurt or killed in the process.

Auxiliary Introverted Sensing [Si]: It takes Madison a little bit longer to adjust to the new world than her children. In the beginning, she continues to cling to the old ways, and discusses trivial matters, such as painting the house when the world outside has gone to hell. Alicia is unable to understand how she can talk about something so normal with everything that’s going on. Madison acts as though she believes things will return to business as usual, while Alicia has already accepted that there’s no going back. Madison needs to see to believe. When Travis tells her that Nick claimed to see his girlfriend eating someone alive, she passes it off as a drug-induced hallucination. When she sees that Art has turned, she tries to reason with him as though he’s still the person she knew. Madison’s past experiences shape her decisions in the present. She worries about Nick’s fascination with the dead because Nick is a recovering drug addict. Seeing his interest in the dead reminds her of his relationship with drugs and this causes her to see Celia as a pusher, which leads Madison to believe that she must be eliminated for Nick’s own safety. One of the reasons that Madison becomes so hellbent on remaining at the ranch (and taking it for themselves, if necessary) is that it’s a safe place for her family. She wants to give them a solid, steady place to live.

Tertiary Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: When she realizes what’s happening, Madison is capable of adapting in the moment. She can also see what’s really going on in most situations she enters, and manipulates them to her advantage. Madison is able to play Troy and mold him into what she needs him to be as part of her plan. She sees potential in him and she exploits it. Madison is able to use her experiences as a guidance counselor in order to influence Troy (Si-Ne). When she finds out that Troy murdered Vernon’s family, she is able to think of a quick fix in the moment and decides to blame it on Walker and his people in order to get the people at the ranch to focus their anger on them. Madison usually has decent intuition about things and believes it was her family’s fate to get to the ranch. Although she can sometimes come up with creative solutions to her problems, she mostly relies on pragmatism.

Inferior Introverted Feeling [Fi]: Typically, Madison keeps her emotions out of her decisions. While she is usually practical and strategic, she is capable of making shortsighted, emotional choices in order to protect her own family. She turns the lights on at the hotel, hoping that Nick will see and come find them, even though that means she will attract hordes of other people as well. She doesn’t care what she has to do or who she has to hurt to keep her loved ones out of harm’s way. She kills Celia because she believes she’s protecting Nick from being taken in by her ways of thinking. She also decides she has to kick Brandon and Derek out of the hotel in order to keep Travis from discovering the truth about Chris. When she hears that Alicia is with Walker’s people, she decides they need to storm the gate to save her, making tensions between the two groups even worse. She sacrifices anybody she needs to in her ploy to take over the ranch. Madison shot her own father in an effort to rescue her mother from the abuse he inflicted on her.

Note: Madison tries too hard to preserve what she has and hold onto what was for Ni/Se. Her intuition doesn’t come from within. She observes, draws conclusions, and comes up with plans based on the information she takes in. Because she’s a very manipulative person, it’s tempting to stereotype her as xNxJ. However, her past shapes her too much and

Madison: If I wasn’t busy keeping everyone else alive I would have time for feelings. I’d love that luxury. I’d love to indulge myself, but someone has to be strong. Someone has to keep everyone else together. You have no idea what I carry.

Madison: Say what you want, but the man I saw yesterday was a threat. He had command.

Madison: We’re going to stay here. We’re going to make it a home. Even if we have to take it over. It’s our fate to get here. Travis died getting here. We have to accept it. We have to be stronger.

Madison: You make sure no one else leaves. Save them from the same mistake. I’ll help you.

[Travis wakes up to find Madison next to him]
Travis: What are you doing?
Madison: Just thinking.
Travis: Been here all night?
Madison: Pretty much.
Travis: That’s a lot of thinking.
Madison: I’m just trying to find the words to say what I want, in a way that you’ll hear.

Nick: How do you tell a lie that big and sleep at night? How can you do that?
Madison: What I said was true. None of these folks will die. Not tonight, not tomorrow, maybe not for a long time. You and Alicia are safe. I’ll sleep like a baby. Say it was Troy-
Nick: It was.
Madison: No one would believe us. They’re more afraid of what’s out there than anything he could do.
Nick: You should’ve told me first before you did this.
Madison: You would’ve said no.
Nick: No, I get it. I hate it, but I get it. I would have backed you like I’m backing you now. Just don’t forget what he is.

Madison: You could run this place, Troy. But not if you let things break like that. Last night you had command. I saw that. Your militia saw that and they responded. Your brother doesn’t have what you have. He’s not of this place. You’re the survivor. You’re the heir. So no, the last thing I wanna hear is how you lost control. That can’t happen. I don’t care how you dod it. I don’t care why you did it. All I care about is that you can control it. There’s a fight coming and you have to save us. Can you?
Troy: Yes, ma’am.

Gaston (Beauty and the Beast, 2017)

Dominant Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Physical beauty is very important to Gaston… particularly his own. He yearns for others to see him as impressive and attractive. Gaston wants to marry Belle because she’s the most beautiful girl in the village, which clearly makes her the <best. He is a very physical, sensory person and is quick to engage in combat. He is extremely aware of his environment and knows how to engage with it. He is a skilled fighter and all of the villagers look up to him. Gaston believes in what he can see, touch, and hear. There’s no such thing as magic but you will get eaten by wolves and starve. He revels in his status as a hero and doesn’t mind tasking risks. In addition to his fighting abilities, he also enjoys hunting, shooting, and drinking. Gaston enjoys a challenge, which is why he sets his sights on Belle. He doesn’t want something if it’s too easy. He lives for the thrill of the chase.

Auxiliary Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Gaston does whatever is logical to him. There’s no such thing as the Beast! You have to be mad to believe that a teacup can talk. Gaston’s decisions are completely detached and he doesn’t really care who gets hurt as a result. He pretends to go along with Maurice until Maurice refuses to give Gaston his blessing to marry Belle, and makes the decision to leave him out in the woods to get eaten by wolves so that he will no longer be around to care for Belle, which, in his mind, will force her to come running to him.

Tertiary Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: It’s easy for Gaston to manipulate the emotions of those around him. He refers to Lefou as his “favorite companion” and butters him up in order to get him to lie about leaving Maurice to the wolves. He is able to rile up the crowd by playing on their fears – he scares them into marching over to the Beast’s castle to slaughter him because he’s dangerous. He cares more about projecting a heroic image than actually being a hero. He chooses to make a show of going after the Beast instead of helping Lefou. He wants everyone to (literally) sing his praises and enjoys attention and admiration. Gaston is immediately able to see that the Beast is in love with Belle and uses this to torment her. You don’t really think she could ever love you, do you? Ha! When the Beast is getting ready to kill him, Gaston begs for mercy, but when the Beast grants it, he attacks him again.

Inferior Introverted Intuition [Ni]: Every action Gaston takes is part of his plan to make Belle his wife. Gaston is determined to make her his and stops at nothing to make that vision a reality. He doesn’t let her constant rejections phase him because he is certain that he will win her over eventually. However, his attempts to gain her favor are completely misguided and typically just push her further away. He’s able to quickly see the connection between the Beast and Belle and becomes singularly focused on destroying it.

Gaston: Gaston: [horseback riding with LeFou; uses the telescope to see Belle] Look at her, LeFou. My future wife. Belle is the most beautiful girl in the village. That makes her the best.
LeFou: But she’s so… well-read! And you’re so… athletically inclined.
Gaston: I know. Belle can be as argumentative as she is beautiful.
LeFou: Exactly! Who needs her when you’ve got us?
Gaston: Yes. But ever since the war I’ve felt like I’ve been missing something. And she’s the only girl that gives me that sense of…
LeFou: Hmm… je ne sais quoi?
Gaston: I don’t know what that means.

Gaston: Picture it, LeFou. Rustic cabin, my latest kill roasting on the fire. Adorable children running around just as my love rubs my tired feet. And what does Belle say? ‘I will never marry you, Gaston.’
LeFou: You know, there are other girls.
[the Bimbettes sighs]
Gaston: A great hunter doesn’t waste his time with rabbits.

Gaston: I am done playing this game of yours. Where is Belle?
Maurice: The Beast took her and she…
Gaston: There are no such things as beasts, or talking teacups, or magic! But there are wolves, frostbite, and starvation!
LeFou: Deep breaths, Gaston. Deep breaths.
[Gaston breathes deeply, then turns to Maurice]
Gaston: So, why don’t we just turn around, go back to Villeneuve? I’m sure Belle is at home, cooking up a lovely dinner.
Maurice: If you think I’ve made all this up, then why did you offer to help?
Gaston: Because I want to marry your daughter!… Now, let’s go home.
Maurice: Belle is not at home! She is with the…
Gaston: [grabs Maurice] You say beast one more time, I WILL FEED YOU TO THE WOLVES!
LeFou: [tries to stop him] Gaston! Stop it. Breathe, think of happy thoughts, go back to the war, bloods, explosions, countless widows.
Gaston: Widows…
LeFou: Yes, yes. That’s it…
[Gaston calms down. LeFou taps his nose]
LeFou: That’s it.
[Gaston turns to Maurice, smiling. Maurice recoils]
Gaston: Maurice! Please forgive me, old bean. That’s no way to talk to my future father-in-law, now is it?
Maurice: Future father-in-law? You will never marry my daughter.
[Gaston furiously punches Maurice in the face, knocking him out]
LeFou: I saw that coming.

Gaston: If Maurice won’t give me his blessing, then he is in my way. Once the wolves come, there will be no one to take care of her but me.

Gaston: Maurice, you’ve become a danger to yourself and others. No wonder Belle ran away.

LeFou: Gaston… help…
Gaston: Sorry, old friend. It’s hero time.

LeFou: [singing] No one’s slick as Gaston, no one’s quick as Gaston / No one’s neck is incredibly thick as Gaston / For there’s no man in town half as manly / Perfect, a pure paragon / You can ask any Tom, Dick or Stanley / And they’ll tell you whose team they prefer to be on! / Who plays darts like Gaston? Who breaks hearts like Gaston? / Who’s much more than the sum of his parts like Gaston?
Gaston: [singing] As a specimen, yes, I’m intimidating!
LeFou: [singing] My, what a guy, that Gaston!

Gaston: Hello, Beast. I’m Gaston. Belle sent me… Are you in love with her? Did you honestly think she’d want you?

Gaston: [to D’Arque] Stand guard, don’t let them escape.
[to the villagers]
Gaston: This creature will curse us all, if we don’t stop him!
[the villagers uproar]
Gaston: Well, I say we kill the Beast!
[the villagers cheer]

Gaston: [to his reflection] You are the wildest, most gorgeous thing I’ve ever seen! Nobody deserves you…

Man in Black (Lost): INTJ

Dominant Introverted Intuition [Ni]: The Man in Black has one, singular goal: escape the island. Everything he does is just another step in his plan. He is constantly focused on the big picture and has no problem biding his time in service of his objective. He is very patient because he has confidence in the eventual outcome. When he leaves his mother and Jacob and joins the other inhabitants of the island, he doesn’t really enjoy being with them, but they are a “means to an end.” The Man in Black instinctively knows exactly what he needs to do in order to achieve the outcome he desires and he is a skilled manipulator. He understands how to get people to bend to his will and maneuvers people with ease in order to get what he needs from them. He knows just what to tell people to convince them to do what he wants. The Man in Black thinks several steps ahead of those around him and is quite proficient in deceit, making him a particularly dangerous opponent. He has an appreciation for symbolism and even stops in the cave to (literally) tip the scales back in his favor (a metaphor for the victory he believes will come). He also destroys the bottle of wine because it symbolizes the cork in the island, which he plans to someday remove.

Auxiliary Extroverted Thinking [Te]: Creating plans and putting them into motion is all the Man in Black does. He will stop at nothing to get off the island and bides his time with the other inhabitants after leaving Mother because he believes they’re his best hope of achieving freedom. He was able to use their intelligence to create a device that allowed him to manipulate the island’s power source, which he believed he could use to get off the island. The Man in Black takes action and gets things done. He knows how to take charge of situations, give out orders, and get things done. When he finds Senet board game, he decides how it should be played and makes up his own rules which he strictly enforces, much to Jacob’s annoyance.

Tertiary Introverted Feeling [Fi]: Unlike his twin brother, The Man in Black believes that humanity is inherently bad. He has a black and white outlook about things. When he and Jacob find out the truth about what Mother did to their biological mother, The Man in Black promptly leaves her, unable to forgive what she’s done. He decides that he and Jacob are both leaving her because they don’t belong with her. They belong with their own people, but Jacob refuses to go with him. All the Man in Black wants is to be free and everything he does is part of his attempt to turn that vision into a reality.

Inferior Extroverted Sensing [Se]: After Mother thwarts his plan to get off the island and slaughters his people, the Man in Black loses it and stabs her to death. Because everything he does is part of his plan to get himself off the island, the Man in Black doesn’t live in the moment. He’s always planning for the future. The Man in Black has a good sense of his environment and works well within it. He doesn’t mind taking risks or entering dangerous situations when it’s to further his own agenda. Sometimes, he does things without considering the possible consequences. He impulsively had Desmond uncork the island, which resulted in the Man in Black becoming mortal.

Enneagram: 8w9 5w4 4w5 Sp/So

Ben: You used me… you couldn’t kill him yourself, so you made me do it.
Man in Black: I didn’t make you do anything. You should know, he was very confused when you killed him.
Ben: I seriously doubt that Jacob was ever confused.
Man in Black: I’m not talking about Jacob. I’m talking about John Locke. Do you wanna know what he was thinking while you, choked the life outta him Benjamin? What the last thought that ran through his head was? “I don’t understand”. Isn’t that just the saddest thing you ever heard? But it’s fitting in a way, because when John first came to the Island, he was a very sad man. A victim, shouting at the world for being told what he couldn’t do, even though they were right. He was weak, and pathetic, and irreparably broken. But, despite all that, there was something admirable about him. He was the only one of them that didn’t wanna leave. The only one, who realized how pitiful the life he’d left behind actually was.
Ben: What do you want?
Man in Black: Well that’s the great irony here Ben because, I want the one thing that John Locke didn’t. I want to go home.

Man in Black: What I am is trapped. And I’ve been trapped for so long that I don’t even remember what it feels like to be free. Maybe you can understand that. But before I was trapped, I was a man, James. Just like you.
Sawyer: I’m havin’ a hard time believin’ that…
Man in Black: You can believe whatever you want, that’s the truth. I know what it’s like to feel joy… to feel pain, anger, fear… to experience betrayal. I know what it’s like to lose someone you love. So if you wanna shoot me, shoot me. But you’re so close, James. It would be such a shame to turn back now.

Man in Black: I wish you hadn’t interrupted me.
Sawyer: I’m sorry… I forgot my manners.
Man in Black: I forgive you.
Sawyer: What happened back at the temple? How’d you know to rescue everybody from that smoke thing?
Man in Black: I didn’t rescue them. I’m the smoke thing.
Sawyer: You telling me you killed all of those people?
Man in Black: I gave them the opportunity to leave peacefully and they didn’t take it.
Sawyer: Why not?
Man in Black: Because they’re convinced that they’re protecting the Island from me, when in fact all I want to do is leave. So it’s either kill or be killed. And I don’t wanna be killed.

Man in Black: Hello, Jacob.
Jacob: Well, you found your loophole.
Man in Black: Indeed I did. And you have no idea what I’ve gone through to be here.

Claire: If I go in there, I need to know you’ll do what you said. I want my son back.
Man in Black: I always do what I say.
Claire: Are you gonna hurt them?
Man in Black: Only the ones who won’t listen.

Man in Black: All this is happening a bit sooner than I’d expected, but these people have forced our hand, claiming we stole something from them, trying to provoke us into a confrontation. Well, if that’s what they want, that’s what they’ll get. Gather your things, we’re going to the other island and we’re getting on that plane. James, I need your help with something. There’s a boat moored just a few hours down the shore from here. I want you to get it and meet the rest of us on the other side of these bluffs. We’ll all sail over to the other island together.

Man in Black: No, Hugo. He wants to get us all in the same place at the same time… a nice confined space we have no hope of getting out of… and then he wants to kill us.
Sawyer: Kill us with what?
Man in Black: With this. Four bricks of C-4. I found them in one of the overheard compartments, wired to the electrical system of the plane. If we would’ve turned it on… boom.
Jin: So what now?
Man in Black: We can’t be sure he didn’t put more explosives on the plane. It’s not safe. If we’re gonna leave the island, I think we have to take the submarine.

Jack: Don’t pull those wires out. We’re okay. Nothing’s gonna happen.
Sawyer: If I don’t pull these wires, Locke’s gonna blow us to kingdom come.
Jack: No, he’s not! Locke can’t kill us.
Hurley: Uh…what?
Jack: This is what he wanted. [2:27 on timer] This is what he’s been waiting for. Everything that he has done has been to get us here. He wanted to get us all in the same place, at the same time–a nice, enclosed space where we had no hopes of getting out of.
Jin: I don’t understand.
Jack: Locke said that he can’t leave the island without us. I think that he can’t leave the island unless we’re all dead. He told me that he could kill anyone of us whenever he wanted. So, what if he hasn’t because he’s…he’s not allowed to. What if he’s trying to get us to kill each other?

Jacob: What is it?
Boy in Black: It’s a game. You play it.
Jacob: How do you know how?
Boy in Black: I just know.
Jacob: Can you show me how to play?
Boy in Black: If you promise not to tell Mother.
Jacob: Why can’t we tell her?
Boy in Black: Because she’ll take it away. So… do you want to play or don’t you, Jacob?

Boy in Black: You can’t do that, Jacob.
Jacob: Why not?
Boy in Black: Because it’s against the rules
Jacob: You made the rules.
Boy in Black: I found it. One day, you can make up your own game and everyone else will have to follow your rules.

Jacob: Why do you have all your things?
Boy in Black: They’re our things… I took them because we’re leaving and we’re never coming back.
Jacob: What?
Boy in Black: Just follow me.
Jacob: Follow you where?
Boy in Black: To the people.
Jacob: No. We’re supposed to stay away from them.
Boy in Black: They’re our people, Jacob, and we’re gonna live with them.
Jacob: No, mother said–
Boy in Black: She lied, she lied about everything–all of it. I know you don’t understand, but you have to come with me. I don’t want to go by myself.
Jacob: We can’t–Mother loves us.
Boy in Black: She doesn’t love us.
Jacob: Stop!
Boy in Black: It was all a lie!
Jacob: Stop it!
Boy in Black: She’s not even our mother!

Mother: What?
Boy in Black: I know now. There is another place across the sea. It’s where I’m from and I’m gonna go there. I’m gonna go home.
Mother: Who- who told you that?
Boy in Black: My mother!
Mother: I’m your mother.
Boy in Black: You killed my mother… Jacob, she was your mother, too. We don’t belong here. We don’t belong with her. Come with me.
Jacob: No.
Mother: My love, you need to know this. Whatever you have been told, you will never be able to leave this Island.
Boy in Black: That’s not true. One day I can prove it.

Man in Black: She know you visit me?
Jacob: She never asks about you.
Man in Black: Then, I’m sorry I asked about her. Why do you watch us, Jacob?
Jacob: I watch because I wanna know if Mother’s right.
Man in Black: Right about what?
Jacob: About them.
Man in Black: Oh, you mean my people. You wanna know if they’re bad. That woman may be insane, but she’s most definitely right about that.
Jacob: I don’t know. They don’t seem so bad to me.
Man in Black: That’s easy for you to say. Looking down on us from above. Trust me, I’ve lived among them for 30 years. They’re greedy, manipulative, untrustworthy, and selfish.
Jacob: Then why are you with them?
Man in Black: They’re a means to an end.
Jacob: What end?
Man in Black: I’m leaving, Jacob. I found a way off the Island.
Jacob: No, it’s impossible. There is no way off the Island.
[Man in Black hurls a dagger, which adheres like a magnet to a stone block wall – Astounded, Jacob pulls it off the wall, which stops a magnetic humming noise.]
Man in Black: There are very smart men among us. Men who are curious about how things work. Together we have discovered places all over this Island where metal behaves strangely. When we find one of these sites, we dig. And this time we found something. Come with me, Jacob. Please… What are you gonna do when she dies?

Man in Black: I spent 30 years searching for that place you brought me as a child–that…waterfall with that beautiful light. I’ve walked this island from end to end, not once coming close to finding it. But, then I began to think–what if the light underneath the island–what if I could get to it from someplace else? Figuring out how to reach it took a very long time.

[the Man in Black sits on a log in the shade, holding a white stone. Jacob shows up]
Jacob: Morning.
Man in Black: Morning.
Jacob: I see you got my present.
Man in Black: Don’t gloat, Jacob. It doesn’t become you.
Jacob: So you tried to kill me.
Man in Black: You expect an apology?
Jacob: I’d just like to know why you did it.
Man in Black: Because I want to leave. Just let me leave, Jacob.
Jacob: As long as I’m still alive, you’re not going anywhere.
Man in Black: Then now you know why I want to kill you. And I will kill you, Jacob.
Jacob: Someone else will take my place.
Man in Black: Well, then I’ll kill them too.
Jacob: [hands him a bottle of wine] Well, here’s something to pass the time. See you around.
[Jacob leaves]
Man in Black: Sooner than you think.
[he smashes the bottle against the log, releasing the wine]

Man in Black: Do you have any idea how badly I want to kill you?
Jacob: Yes.
Man in Black: One of these days, sooner or later, I’m going to find a loophole, my friend.
Jacob: Well, when you do, I’ll be right here.
Man in Black: Always nice talking to you, Jacob.
Jacob: Nice talking to you, too.

Anger (Inside Out): ESTJ

Dominant Extroverted Thinking [Te]: Anger wants to be in control. He believes in taking action and getting things done. Things aren’t just going to magically resolve themselves, so it’s up to him to make a move. When he comes up with the idea to return to Minnesota, he immediately decides that they’ll money from Mom’s purse and hop on a bus. Anger has an aggressive attitude towards things, and when the other emotions try to take control of the console, he insists that they let him do it. Anger can be very blunt and harsh when he speaks to other people, and prefers a straightforward and direct approach. Anger is decisive and logical. The practical thing to do was to go back to the place where Riley was happy.

Auxiliary Introverted Sensing [Si]: For Anger, the most sensible thing to do is go back to Minnesota, because that’s where Riley was happy. He’s living in the past and believes that reconnecting Riley with it is the way to solve their problems. All of the best memories were made there, so that’s where they need to be! He isn’t open to trying to solve the problem by looking forward and trying to make San Francisco their home. It’s not their home and Anger just wants things to go back to the way they were before.

Tertiary Extroverted Intuition [Ne]: Although Anger isn’t exactly bursting with ideas and seems to prefer practicality, he can come up with one if the occasion calls for it. However, he’s not great at looking ahead to the future, so his idea comes from his unwillingness to let go of the past (Si). His brainstorming is in service of an overall goal and works to support his Te. He doesn’t speculate about things just for the sake of speculation. Instead, he entertains possibilities for a purpose.

Inferior Introverted Feeling [Fi]: Fairness is very important to Anger. If he finds something to be unfair, he can lash out about it. Because Anger doesn’t consider that running away will fracture Riley’s bond with her parents, his plan actually ends up doing more harm than good, which he realizes at the last moment and tries to correct. When he’s fired up, he can go into quite the rage. Anger has his own set of principles, which he uses to make moral decisions. It’s okay to steal the money from Mom’s purse because they’re the reason Riley is unhappy, so they should pay to fix the situation.

Enneagram: 8w9

Anger: All the good core memories were made in Minnesota. Ergo, we go back to Minnesota and make more. Ta-da!
Fear: Wait. You’re saying we run away?
Anger: Well, I wouldn’t call it that. I’d call it “The Happy Core Memory Development Program.”
Fear: You can’t be serious.
Anger: Hey. Our life was perfect until Mom and Dad decided to move to San Fran Stinktown.
Fear: But, I mean, it’s just so drastic!
Anger: Need I remind you of how great things were there? Our room? Our back yard? Our friends?

Fear: Wait, hold on. Shouldn’t we just sleep on this or something?
Anger: Fine. Let’s sleep on it. Because hey, I’m sure jolly fun-filled times are just around the corner.

Anger: You idiot! It was a DREAM! This is ridiculous, we can’t even get a good night sleep anymore. Time to take action.

Anger: Stupid Mom and Dad. If they hadn’t moved us, none of this would’ve happened. Who’s with me?

Disgust: A ticket costs money. How do we get money?
Anger: Mom’s purse.
Disgust: You wouldn’t.

Anger: It’s downstairs somewhere. Mom and Dad got us into this mess. They can pay to get us out.

Anger: Look. We have no core memories. You want Riley to be happy? Let’s get back to Minnesota and make more.

Katerina Petrova/Katherine Pierce (The Vampire Diaries): ENTJ

Dominant Extroverted Thinking [Te]: Katherine always has a plan… and, usually, a number of back-up plans in case her original one fails. She is extremely results-driven and knows how to organize her environment to achieve her desired outcome. Katherine is ruthless and will do whatever it takes to save her own neck. She betrays her friends in order to fake her own death. She infiltrates the Gilbert household and compels Jenna to act as a spy for her. Katherine is direct, blunt, and doesn’t care who she has to hurt in order to get her own way. She is usually in control of situations and confident that her plans will succeed. Katherine has no trouble putting aside her emotions to do what needs to be done. She isn’t limited by her connections to other people and they rarely get in her way. In order to escape Klaus, she stabs herself, tricking Rose into feeding her blood in order to heal her. Then, with Rose’s blood in her system, she hangs herself, thus becoming a vampire and rendering herself useless to Klaus.

Auxiliary Introverted Intuition [Ni]: The big picture is always on Katherine’s mind and everything she does is just a piece in a larger plan. She knows exactly what she needs to do and how to manipulate the people around her in order to get what she wants. She devises a scheme and sets all of the pieces in place. Katherine is incredibly conniving and is always after something. Her motivations are almost always rooted in self-preservation. She wants to live, and every plan she hatches is in service of her future. Katherine is good at sensing other people’s weaknesses and using them to her advantage. If she can get someone to fall in love with her, she can use them to help her or protect her. She turns Caroline into a vampire and then blackmails her into keeping Elena distracted for her. She inserts herself into Stefan’s head by manipulating his dreams. She comes up with the plan that causes Mason Lockwood to kill someone, triggering his werewolf curse and using him to get the moonstone. Damon tries to foil her plans by killing Mason, but Katherine is already several steps ahead, as she has already compelled Matt to pick a fight with Tyler to take Mason’s place. When Damon comes to visit Katherine while she’s locked in the tomb, she begs him not to kill Elijah, knowing that he’ll do the opposite of whatever she asks.

Tertiary Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Although she is never without a plan, Katherine is good at improvising in the moment when unexpected circumstances arise. When the situation changes, Katherine adapts and deals with it accordingly. She’s good at using whatever is available in her environment to complete her mission. Katherine has fine tastes and enjoys luxury. She often mocks Elena’s understated sense of fashion and typically opts for for extravagance. She lives her life on the run and doesn’t settle down in one place for very long. Katherine thrives in dangerous situations and sometimes she can make impulsive decisions in the moment. She knows the risks of staying in Mystic Falls, but does so anyway, which nearly leads to her being imprisoned in the tomb with the other vampires. Katherine seizes opportunities as they arise. When Jeremy enters the tomb to get the moonstone from her, he incapacitates her, but when the effects wear off, she attacks him and holds him hostage, using him as leverage in order to coerce Bonnie into opening the tomb to set her free. When this doesn’t work, she bites Jeremy instead, which prompts Stefan to go in and rescue him, trapping himself there with her in the process.

Inferior Introverted Feeling [Fi]: She may act as though she has no emotional attachments, but she does. In her own way, she truly does love Stefan. And, even though Katherine initially brushes off the book of Petrova family history that Elena brings when she visits her while imprisoned in the tomb, once she is alone, she looks at the portraits of her family and cries. She acts detached and emotionless when she reunites with the child that was taken from her back when she was human, but deep down, she does care about Nadia. However, even when she genuinely cares about someone, she typically refuses to let love or morality stand in the way of her goals.

Enneagram: 8w7 Sp/Sx (Tritype: 837)

Katherine: You’ve no idea what you’ve just done.
Damon: Aww, did I put a kink in your master plan? I’m so sorry.
Katherine: Do you honestly believe that I don’t have a plan B? And if that fails, a plan C, and then a plan D, and… you know how the alphabet works, don’t you? Send my love to Stefan

Katherine: (voice-over) Dear Diary, so here I am alive. Stefan saved me from killing myself. Now he’s got me on suicide watch. He says it will be therapeutic for me to write down my feelings about the fact that I’m dying and there’s nothing I can do about it. Deep thoughts, mortal coil, blah, blah, blah. Ugh. My hand’s tired. (to Stefan) What kind of sentimental idiot writes down everything hey feel? Is this what the prophecy meant when it said that all the Doppelgängers were drawn together like magnets? Because if it is, I any my money back.
Stefan: I’m just trying to make sure you don’t slit your wrists.
Katherine: Well, this whole neurotic granny vibe doesn’t exactly make me want to live. Do you really have nothing better to do than stand there all day and watch me write in cursive?
Stefan: I’m trying to make sure you don’t kill yourself.
Katherine: And how are you going to do that, you know, since you’re still having your little panic attacks?
Stefan: I’m fine.
Katherine: Yeah. Of course. You are the picture of mental health, Stefan, after being locked for 3 months in a safe at the bottom of a quarry.
Stefan: I am dealing with it.
Katherine: I know. I mean, I heard you “dealing” with it earlier today in the library. It sounded like you freaked out and broke a chair, maybe even two. How are you supposed to help me stay alive if you can’t even help yourself?
Stefan: So does this mean you want to live?
Katherine: No. It means that I can’t work with people who can’t give me 100%.

Katherine: Don’t play the hero. You two are just waiting for the convenient time to hand me back over to him. I’ve done this a thousand times. I get it. I’m the leverage. I’m that thing that everybody wants. I’m the freaking moonstone.

Katherine[to Elena]: I will always look out for myself. If you’re smart, you’ll do the same.

Katherine: I want what I want, Stefan. And I don’t care what I have to do to get it. My list of victims is a long one, and I have no problem adding one more name to that list.

Katherine[to Damon]: I wanted out of the tomb. Doesn’t matter the price. Of course I knew you would die.

Katherine: One hundred and forty-five years and no last goodbye?
Damon: You don’t get a goodbye.
Katherine: Don’t. Don’t leave mad.
Damon: Us ending up on good terms is not exactly on my bucket list, Katherine.
Katherine: Klaus made me call Jenna to lure her out. There was nothing I could do. I didn’t have a choice.
Damon: That’s why I gave you the vervain. So you had a choice.
Katherine: It was her or me. I chose her.
Damon: I helped you. You owed me. Now when Klaus dies you’re going to walk out of here without a scratch and Elena’s aunt dies. Somehow you’re the only one that wins. How’d that happen?
Katherine: I didn’t let love get in the way.
Damon: Enjoy an eternity alone, Katherine.

Elena: What the hell are you doing here?
Katherine: Your boyfriends invited me. They want to know if you still have a heart. There it is. Your bodyguards won’t let me kill you, but I can rip your throat out. So I don’t have to listen to you whine. But first, satisfy my curiosity, what did you tell Elijah back in Willoughby?
Elena: That’s why you’re here? He dumped you, didn’t he? Now you’re just looking for a scapegoat.
Katherine: Tell me what you said to turn him against me or I will feed you your own eyeballs.
Elena: I didn’t have to say anything. Look at you. A self-obsesses egomaniac on the run for 5 centuries. What good would you be to anyone? You’re the definition of damaged goods. No wonder Elijah left you.
Katherine: Yeah, I’ve done some pretty horrible things to survive, but unlike you, poor, delicate Elena, I don’t turn it off. I deal with it. You wouldn’t last a week as a vampire without everyone fawning over you. By I’d love to see you try.

Katherine: Humanity is a vampire’s greatest weakness. No matter how easy it is to turn it off, it keeps trying to fight its way back in. Sometimes I let it.

Damon:[after kissing Katherine] Wait… brief pause. I have a question answer it and it’s back to fireworks and rockets and back to the glare, answer it right, I’ll forget the last one hundred and forty five years I’ve spent missing you. I’ll forget how much I loved you, I’ll forget everything and we can start over. This can be our defining moment, see we have the time, it’s the beauty of eternity. I just need the truth, just once…
Katherine: Stop. I already know the question and it’s answer… The truth is I`ve never loved you. It was always Stefan.

Katherine: I want what I want, Stefan. And I don’t care what I have to do to get it. My list of victims is a long one, and I have no problem adding one more name to that list.

Katherine: Jenna has been my little spy for days now, but unlike you she actually listens to me.

Elena: It’s your family history. It says in here that the family line ended with you. Obviously that’s not true.
Katherine: You think that if you brought me some family keepsake that I’d open up?

Elena: You killed yourself?!
Katherine: Klaus needed a human doppelgänger. As a vampire, I was no longer any use to him.
Elena: But it didn’t work. You didn’t really escape, you’ve been running from Klaus ever since.
Katherine: I underestimated his spirit for vengeance but living in a suitcase is better than dying so you can have your blood spilled over some silly little rock.

Trevor: What did you do, Katerina? I would have helped you live.
Katherine: You would have helped me run. That was never going to be enough.
Trevor: It was enough for me.
Rose: Do you not see, Trevor? She used you to help her escape and me to turn her. Klaus will see our role in this.
Katherine: And for that I’m sorry.
Rose: As am I….for this.
[She rushes over to Katherine with a stake but Katherine grabs the old lady and pulls her in front of herself for protection. Rose stakes the old lady on the shoulder. Katherine drinks the old lady’s blood.]
Katherine: Please understand.
Rose: You have just signed our death sentence.
Katherine: Better you die than I.

Elena: Okay, assuming it’s even partially true, that’s the reason why you came back isn’t it? Because you wanted to be the one to hand me over to Klaus.
Katherine: 500 years on the run, I figured maybe he’d be willing to strike a deal.
Elena: So you got Mason Lockwood to find you the moonstone.
Katherine: Right again.
Elena: What else do you need to break the curse?
Katherine: Hmm, look who is getting smarter.
Elena: It’s not just me or the stone, is it? Otherwise there would be no reason to trigger Tyler Lockwood’s werewolf curse.
Katherine: Witches and their spells: so many ingredients, so many people to sacrifice.
Elena: So you need a werewolf?
Katherine: Believe it or not, they’re hard to come by.
Elena: What else?
Katherine: A witch to do the spell. Mine bailed but Bonnie will do just fine.
Elena: What else?
Katherine: A vampire.
Elena: Caroline.
Katherine: It could have been anyone I suppose but I like the poetry of Caroline.
Elena: So you were gonna just hand us all over to be killed?
Katherine: Better you die than I.

Katherine:You can hate me, but we both want the same thing. And you know I always get what I want.

Katherine: You knew that Emily Bennett was the key to getting me out of that tomb, and something tells me that you did everything in your power to make sure that she was safe, and yet you have no idea where she was killed? Who’s the liar now?

Katherine: It was her or me. I chose her.

Katherine: I’m perfectly aware that tombstone isn’t just a hunk of rock.
Bonnie: No kidding.
Katherine: And it got me thinking, all big spells require a source of power, a recurring element like a full moon, a comet. But that tombstone is filled with the blood of your ancient reflective Katsooyay or whatever.
Bonnie: Qetsiyah.
Katherine: She was powerful enough to create the other side. So maybe, if you have her blood, you don’t need a full moon to drop the veil. Maybe you can do it whenever you want. The thing I can’t figure out is why do you want to drop the veil at all?
Bonnie: I have my reasons.
Katherine: And again, I ask, what’s in it for me?
Bonnie: You’ll get the one thing you want most in this world– freedom, survival. Never having to run from anyone again. Once I’ve dropped the veil, I can speak to Qetsiyah. She created the spell that made Silas truly immortal, invulnerable to any weapon. You’d like that for yourself, wouldn’t you? I can give it to you.
Katherine: Bonnie Bennett, we have a deal.

Katherine: Why did you keep this picture? Why not burn it? Tear it up? You wanna know why I came back? Well, I have a better question. Why did you? Elena? No. You came back here to fall in love with me all over again, didn’t you Stefan?

Katherine: Go ahead, Stefan. Torture me, keep me captive, drain me of blood until my body turns to dust. It’ll never change the truth. I never compelled your love; it was real. And so was mine.
Stefan: It wasn’t real. I remember you compelling me.
Katherine: Only after I showed you who I really was. You were so scared of me. I had to take away your fear.
Stefan: Well, whatever feelings I had back then…they’ve all turned to hate.
Katherine: Love, hate. Such a fine line. I can wait.

Elena: So do I. I had this whole speech that I was preparing to give your unconscious body.
Katherine: Let me guess. Hate, loathe, screw you, die, bitch, et cetera.
Elena: Yes. Plus one more thing. I forgive you.
Katherine: You what?
Elena: I forgive you. You weren’t born evil. Your life made you that way. You lost everyone that you cared about way too young, and you didn’t have a family that looked after you. Sound familiar?
Katherine: Is this the… “We’re not so different you and I” Doppelgänger speech? Because I’d be happy to skip it.
Elena: I’ll save it for the funeral that we probably won’t have for you.
Katherine: Perfect.
Elena: I just wanted to get the forgiveness part out. It’s part of me that I… I never want to lose.
Katherine: Good for you. Now maybe you can help a girl out and give me one more syringe, and if anyone’s gonna plunge a needle in me one last time, may as well be you. Symmetry and all that. Elena… Thank you for your forgiveness.
Elena: You’re welcome.

Sarah Manning (Orphan Black): ESTP

Dominant Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Sarah is constantly scanning her surroundings for potential. Her first instinct after watching Beth commit suicide is to steal her purse and run. She seizes the opportunity in front of her. Sarah goes to Beth’s apartment, does her hair like Beth’s, dresses in her clothing, mimics her accent, observes her behavior from video footage she finds of her, and learns to forge her signature. When she requests a large sum of money from Beth’s bank account, she’s told she can’t withdraw that much immediately. Noticing the trophies behind the teller, she asks if she can expedite the process by sponsoring his next charity run, to which he agrees. Sarah is extremely resourceful and street smart. She destroys the magnetic strip on Beth’s bank card so she can replace it at the bank. When Paul returns from his trip and begins an uncomfortable line of questioning, Sarah distracts him by initiating sex so she doesn’t have to continue the discussion. Sarah has a keen awareness of her environment and knows how to use what she notices to her advantage. She tends to react to things physically and she can be very violent. When Sarah asks Alison to teach her how to shoot, she picks it up quickly. Her reflexes are very good, too. While following a lead at an apartment, Sarah notices a person watching from outside with a gun, and pushes Art onto the ground just as the attacker shoots. When Helena tries to kill her later, she’s able to keep her talking just long enough to grab a nearby rebar and impale her with it.

Auxiliary Introverted Thinking [Ti]: When Sarah is in a bind, she is very good at analyzing her situation and coming up with the best solution. Her process is internal, though. She doesn’t think aloud. When Felix points out Sarah can only take over Beth’s life for so long, since Beth’s body will eventually be identified, she becomes very quiet, thinking intensely. When he continues to talk, she tells him to shut up and that she’s thinking. She sees the news report about Beth’s suicide on television as she’s contemplating the situation and is struck with the perfect idea: She’ll have Felix identify the body as her, leaving her free and clear to continue impersonating Beth. When a man pulls her into his car, she has no idea who he is or what’s going on, but she notices a paper in his car with the name “Arthur” on it, and remembers that someone named “Art” has been calling Beth. She instantly realizes this is the same person and casually refers to him as “Art” which allows her to evade suspicion (Se-Ti). When “Beth” isn’t to return to work, Sarah meets with her therapist. When she hears the therapist talk about how Beth claimed to be “glitched” and how she was “missing herself”, she successfully gets the therapist to change her ruling after threatening to speak out about how she was prescribing Beth a lot of medication, which Beth may have been high on at the time of the shooting that she was suspended for.

Tertiary Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: Although Sarah isn’t a particularly emotional person, she is good at picking up on other people’s feelings and using them for manipulation. She knows how to turn on the charm to get what she needs from people, and can tailor her approach to the specific person she’s trying to manipulate. Though she isn’t very direct with her feelings, she does care about the people in her life very much, especially Kira and Felix. Sarah is also pretty good at slipping into the lives of her clones when she needs to impersonate them. When she impersonates Alison to interrogate Donnie, Sarah admonishes him for the way he’s speaking to Alison (even though she’s torturing him). She’s fiercely protective of the people she cares about and will do whatever it takes to keep them safe from harm.

Inferior Introverted Intuition [Ni]: Sarah lives moment to moment and doesn’t have a clear plan for her future. She survives, and that’s about it. Once she discovers the clones, she begins to utilize her inferior function more frequently. Although she initially toys with the idea of just taking Alison’s money and running off with Felix and Kira, she can’t. She understands that there’s a bigger picture. When it comes to protecting the people she cares about and getting to the bottom of who she really is, Sarah can be extremely goal-oriented. When Sarah and the rest of the Clone Club come up with plans, Sarah is good at remaining on target and not getting sidetracked.

Siobhan Sadler:: I’ve seen your elaborate ruses and guises before, but how do you do this, how do you fake your own demise beneath a train?
Sarah: Wouldn’t you rather know why?
Siobhan Sadler:: I don’t care to know why.
Sarah: Because I saw a way to dump Vic and get out of that life and get away with Kira.
Siobhan Sadler:: Ha! Take her on the run with you? Brilliant. New clothes and a Jaguar do not a mother make.

Sarah: Bloody Mrs S. She’s right.
Felix: Really?
Sarah: What kind of mother am I if I snatch my own daughter?
Felix: A crap one, I agree.
Sarah: And if I rob Alison, run now and never tell my…
Felix: Clones?
Sarah: Oh, God, we do have to find another word for that.

Alison: This one’s some kind of lowlife grifter! How do we know she didn’t push her?
Sarah: Oi! I already told you… I didn’t want to be her. I got stuck! I was running from my own shit.
Alison: [Alison sarcastically replies] I can only imagine.
[Sarah punches Alison for pointing a gun at Felix]
Sarah: You point a gun at my brother again, I will kick the living shite out of you!

[Dr. Bower tells Sarah she’s unfit for duty as Sarah argues back]
Dr. Anita Bower: By your own admission of blackout or psychotic break, I can’t recommend you for duty.
Sarah: That’s not going to work for me.
Dr. Anita Bower: I understand, you’re a cop, but this is my job.
Sarah: Can you read that back again? That, um, ‘I’m missing myself. I glitched.’ Does that sound stoned to you?
Dr. Anita Bower: ‘Glitched’ sounds stoned?
Sarah: Tweaked, gakked, spun. Ahem! Allevia, Superprax, Draxifil. What’s the difference between a mood stabilizer and an antipsychotic, again?
Dr. Anita Bower: Beth…
Sarah: Oh, no, I’m sorry, I’ve been confused. I mean, it’s very confusing. Um… Antidepressants, antianxieties, SSRIs. Serotronax… That one’s a stimulant.
Dr. Anita Bower: We have known each other for a while, now, Beth…
Sarah: Yeah? That’s where you’re wrong.
Dr. Anita Bower: You have constantly tested me with your personal appeals for prescriptions.
Sarah: I know. My bad. So I’ll just explain to the board that I shot this poor civilian after mixing up all your overlapping scrips. Or am I making progress?
[Sarah smiles]

[Sarah shows Felix the $75,000 she took out of Beth’s bank account]
Felix: Is this evil twin’s money?
Sarah: Yeah, $75,000 in cash. That’s enough to lose Vic, lose the twin-sister weirdness, just somewhere safe with my daughter. Is that so much to ask?

Sarah: I do have one really idiotic idea.
Felix: Oh, good.
Sarah: I need to be in two places at once, yeah?
Felix: Yeah…
Sarah: Well, if anybody can do that, we can.
Felix: Are you effing serious?
Sarah: Yeah, suddenly, I am.

Sarah: Look, Art’s already looking for the killer. I shadow him as Beth, I let them figure out what’s happened to her, and then, when I find that out, I can jump off and deal.
Felix: ‘Deal’? I’m beginning to realize crazy’s genetic.

Sarah: Something really weird just happened at the train station.
Felix: What?
Sarah: I saw a girl kill herself.
Felix: Ew! A jumper?
Sarah: Yeah, and she looked exactly like me, Felix.
Felix: What you mean?
Felix: Oh! You robbed her body.
Sarah: No, she left her bag on the platform.
Felix: Isn’t that essentially robbing her body?

Sarah: I’m going to shoot Paul’s balls off.
Cosima: Wait, just, um, just squeeze them, ok? He’s our way into this whole thing.

Sarah: [Sarah sits with Kira] You’re so independent, aren’t you? Hmm, monkey? Little monkey?
Siobhan Sadler: Remind you of anyone?
Sarah: Yeah, but I was much angrier, wasn’t I? Even small. You were the one who introduced me to punk rock, though.
Siobhan Sadler: Yeah. You took all of the attitude, none of the politics.

Sarah: He’s a bastard.
Felix: Who?
Sarah: Paul. Beth loved him, but he wouldn’t love her back and he wouldn’t leave her.
Felix: Mm. Well, he’s certainly changed his tune now, hasn’t he? Sarah, he’s falling for you.
Sarah: God, what a mess.

Sarah: Of all the things that scare me right now, Fe, this one’s the heaviest.
Felix: You know she can’t wait to see you, right?
Sarah: Yeah, thanks. She’s the only thing that really matters, you know?

Sarah: [Sarah tells Paul that he’s a mole and killed the woman who loved him] You’re a plant, and she killed herself because the man that she loved turned her whole life into a lie. She knew you didn’t love her and she couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t leave. And, now, she figured it out.
Paul:[Paul holds his gun on Sarah] This isn’t true. It’s a sick test. Isn’t it? Isn’t it?
Sarah: She trusted you. How could you do that to her?
Paul: You think I had a choice?
Sarah: Just tell me why.
Paul: They don’t tell us why.

[Donnie is questioned by Sarah who’s impersonating Alison]
Donnie: [Donnie hears the voices of the neighbors] The whole neighborhood is here? What kind of irrational nonsense is going through that head of yours?
Sarah: Hey, watch your tone, Donnie!
Donnie: Alison, get your frazzled, PMS shit together!
Sarah: Hey! You watch your tone! Your wife is the rock of this family! You will no longer speak down to her! Am I clear?
Donnie: Yeah.

Paul: I’m not doing any of this by choice.
Sarah: Right, so, they forced you to be Beth’s monitor for two years, without ever knowing why.
Paul: You’re some kind of hustler. You understand leverage, right? The difference is, you chose to infiltrate Beth’s life, to screw her boyfriend, right on this counter.
Sarah: And you weren’t even you.
Paul: And you weren’t you, either.

Vic: So, you faked your own death so… You could move on to a new scam, hmm? Who are you now, Sarah? Sarah, it must be so confusing.
Sarah: You have no idea.

[Sarah tries to convince the drinking Alison that Donnie is not her monitor]
Sarah: Look, Paul’s military. He’s a professional. You’ve known Donnie since, what?
Alison: High school.
Sarah: Right, high school, yeah? So how could he be your monitor?

Art: Sarah, my partner killed herself. I didn’t see it coming. Help me. Help Beth. I know you care.
Sarah: There’s a reason we look exactly the same, Art.
Art: Okay.
Sarah: [Sarah starts to cry] Why the prints match, and the DNA’s all screwed up. But you have to promise to protect me and my daughter.
Art: I will. If that’s what you need, I promise.

Sarah: I just want to know who I am.
Siobhan Sadler:: You’re still you. Remember that. You’re a survivor.

Cosima: Sarah, what are you going to do? Walk into the Dyad with a gun and just start shooting people? I mean…
Sarah: Yeah.

Malia Tate (Teen Wolf): ESTP

Dominant Extroverted Sensing [Se]: Because Malia lived as a coyote for so many years, she is extremely physical. She leaps right in without pausing to think about consequences. Malia lives in the moment. She doesn’t get hung up on the past, nor does she stress over the future. She’s aware of her surroundings and is always on alert. If Malia has a violent urge, she’ll usually just act on it, but as she adapts to being around humans again, she slowly learns to control her animalistic instincts. While other people are trying to figure out a plan of attack, Malia is already knocking people out and getting stuff done. She doesn’t have patience for strategizing, she just prefers to dive right in.

Auxiliary Introverted Thinking [Ti]: Malia has no desire to be in charge, lead, or organize her external environment. She figures out what makes sense to her and makes decisions from there. She’s curious as to why things are the way they are, and tries to understand and question things. Malia tends to blurt out offensive comments. She’s not very sensitive to the feelings of the people around her, and often doesn’t even realize that what she’s saying is offensive because of her lack of social awareness. She has no concept of tact. Malia doesn’t let her feelings influence her decisions and does whatever she considers to be rational. She’s also good at picking up on when people aren’t being logically consistent and has no issue pointing it out to them.

Tertiary Extroverted Feeling [Fe]: This function is very underdeveloped for Malia because she spent so much of her life on her own and didn’t get to interact with people or socialize. Although, at first, Malia only cares about Stiles, she eventually develops relationships with the entire pack, becoming less detached and more protective of all of them, as opposed to just Stiles. However, Malia tends to show that she cares by fighting for her friends or defending them when they’re being threatened (Se-Fe). She doesn’t like to talk about her feelings (but she is able to verbalize her fondness for Stiles), though she is getting better at articulating things and expressing herself in healthier ways. The more she interacts with people, the more group-minded and selfless she becomes. She also improves at being able to sense the emotional states of other people. Malia adapts to other people’s morals and adopts them as her own. She doesn’t kill because Scott says “we don’t kill people.” However, when she feels that killing is the rational option, she says so, but doesn’t act on it because she knows how the rest of her pack would react.

Inferior Introverted Intuition [Ni]: It’s hard for Malia to think ahead or plan for the future. She can be goal-oriented, such as her desire to save Stiles or rescue Lydia. When the group has an objective, Malia can focus on that and typically uses her Se to get the job done. Occasionally, Malia uses what she observes in her environment (Se) to form conclusions about things. She notices the bite on Stiles’ shoulder and correctly assumes that he was responsible for Donovan’s death.

Note: Keep in mind, Malia spent a good chunk of her life as a wild animal, so she’s extremely unhealthy and her functions are a little wonky. A lot of people write her off as Te/Fi and type her as ESTJ or ESFP. Her Se is definitely dominant, though. I see why people could type her as ESFP, but I see a stronger case for auxiliary Ti than tertiary Te. She doesn’t have a strong moral code or any intense values and her sense of logic comes from within.

Enneagram: 8w7 Sp/Sx

Scott: Guys, look– back to Tracy. She’s just one lone wolf. We can find her.
Malia: One lone serial-killing wolf.
Stiles: Uh, she only killed one person, you know. The other two were mauled, alright? What do we do when we catch her?
Malia: I say we put her down.
[They all look at each other. Scott is visibly against this plan, Stiles nods in agreement with Malia, while Kira, Lydia, and Liam seem at a loss for options. Mason looks at them all with interest and nods solemnly]
Mason: Intense.

Stiles: If Theo’s parents are both psychotic killers, then obviously, we should not trust him, right?
Malia: …My parents are Peter and the Desert Wolf…

[Kira is discouraged due to her failure at every practice try of siphoning electricity, and Scott gives her a pep talk]
Scott: I know you can do this. [He looks at the others] Anyone here think she can’t?
[When no one speaks, Scott gives them a frustrated look, and the others start to give Kira reassuring expressions]
Liam: Not me!
Stiles: I was the one who put you in the plan.
[They all look at Malia, who remains silent for a long moment before finally replying]
Malia: What?
Stiles: [whispers] “I believe in you, too, Kira!”
Malia: I’m the one who’s going to be locked in an electrical room with her!
[They all give Malia a look, and she sighs and turns to Kira]
Malia: You can do it.
Kira: You guys are all crazy. We’re gonna die.

Malia: Kira, nothing’s happening.
Kira: I’m aware of that. I don’t want to lose control, because I’m afraid I might fry the entire system.
Malia: Stop worrying about what you might do. This isn’t about you, or me– it’s about Lydia. We’re here to save Lydia. We’re here to save our friend.

[Malia and Braeden are arguing over whether or not their plan to catch the Desert Wolf is a trap]
Malia: I’m not walking away on a maybe.
Braeden: And I’m not walking in on so much uncertainty.
Malia: You said you’ve been after her for years.
Braeden: And why do you think it’s been years? Because she knows what she’s doing. She took Scott’s boss for a reason. We don’t know what it is. We don’t know if she’s back in Beacon Hills because she missed you all this time and can’t wait for a mother-daughter reunion, or if she’s planning to put a bullet in your head. We don’t know anything.
Malia: We know one thing– we know where she is. I’m going in. I have to.

[Malia has just dropped Stiles off at the Sheriff’s station so he can talk to his dad]
Malia: Are you going to tell him about Donovan?
Stiles: [shocked] You knew?
Malia: I guessed. I saw the bite on your shoulder while you were sleeping. It didn’t matter to me. That’s why I never said anything.
Stiles: [sighs] It matters to me.

Malia: Can they fix it?
Stiles: There’s not enough duct tape in the world to fix that thing.
Malia: Maybe you should find something other than duct tape.
Stiles: It’s got a bad alternator. You know, needs all new belts, transmission’s going, the brake pads are basically metal on metal…
Malia: How come you let it get so bad?
Stiles: There’s been a few distractions, if you haven’t noticed.
Malia: I notice. More than you think I do.

Malia: I don’t know, Stiles. I mean, I see why you’re worried. He’s really hot! He’s got like, great hair, a perfect body… You should definitely feel threatened…
Stiles: Thank you! Because I do. Now more than ever.
Malia: You want me to torture him?
Stiles: No, I don’t want you to torture him!
Malia: I’m pretty sure I can take him.

Stiles: Who speeds? People trying to get away from something!
Malia: Well, how many tickets do you have?
Stiles: None!
Malia: How many would you have if your dad didn’t get you out of them?
Stiles: …Seventeen.

Peter: You worried about Stiles?
Malia: I’m worried about everyone.
Peter: Do I need to be worried about you? We have to go through the berserkers to get to Kate. Then, we have to go through Kate to get to Scott and Kira. Trust me, it’s going to get messy.
Malia: Scott says we don’t kill people.
Peter: You think Scott wouldn’t kill to save Kira? Would you kill to save Stiles?

Peter: You’re trying to stay in control?
Malia: Trying to stay human.
Peter: That’s exactly your problem. Scott has you thinking that control and humanity are the same for us. Now, let me give you some fatherly advice. If you’re gonna face something as animal as a berserker and try to win, you need to focus on the animal inside you. You’ll need every ounce of ferocity and savagery you can muster. You’ll need it.

[Deaton is examining Tracy as she lays unconscious on his table at the animal clinic. Malia, Scott, and Stiles watch him and brainstorm]
Malia: Uh, can’t you just give her a shot of something?
Dr. Deaton: She doesn’t look to be in any pain…
Malia: I meant a shot to kill her!

Kira: Something’s happening.
Malia: I know.
Kira: What do we do?
Malia: Blend in!
[Kira looks confused]
Malia: Dance with me, dumbass!
Kira: Oh.

Kira: We already looked for a way out. I think a lot of people have.
Malia: I say, when that door opens again, we take out whoever’s standing in the way and run for it.
Kira: What about Lydia?
Malia: What about her?
Scott: We’re not leaving without her.
Malia: Why not?
Stiles: Because we don’t leave without people. Remember, we talked about this? The rules of the wild kingdom don’t apply to friends.
Kira: Is that what you would do as a coyote? Leave her for dead?
Malia: If she was weak and injured, yeah. If hunting had been bad that season, I would eat her! Then, I’d leave.
Stiles: Mmm. Believe it or not, that’s progress.

Scott: What are you doing here?
Malia: I heard you were coming to talk to Peter. And, since Lydia tells me he’s basically Satan in a v-neck, I figured you shouldn’t be alone.

Scott: We’re going to use the boathouse for Liam. It’s got support beams, we can chain him to one of them.
Kira: But how do we get him out to the lake house if he doesn’t trust us?
Stiles: I say if it keeps him from murdering someone, we chloroform the little bastard and throw him in the lake.
Malia: [raises hand] I’m in!

Stiles: Hey. Where have you been?
Malia: Talking to Peter.
Stiles: Okay. You think that’s a good idea?
Malia: If he can help me find my mother, I don’t think I care.

Malia: Try to remember I’m a werecoyote that murdered her own family. I won’t judge. I promise.

Stiles: Just breathe, okay. I’m not going to leave you.
Malia: What if I hurt you?
Stiles: You’re not going to.
Malia: But I want to. Uh! I look at your face and I want to slash at it. I want to tear at it. I want to feel your bones crack between my hands.
Stiles: Surprisingly enough, you’re not the first person to ever say something like that.

Negan (The Walking Dead): ENTJ

Dominant Extroverted Thinking [Te]: Negan is an authoritarian leader with a need for power. He spends much of his time exerting his dominance over others and keeping people in check. He creates the laws and expects people to abide by them. Negan takes his rules very seriously, and if someone puts a toe out of line, there will be consequences. He’s a talented strategist, which makes him a formidable adversary. Negan knows how to keep his people in line. He’s blunt, direct, good at delegating, and a skilled planner. If Negan’s initial plans go awry, he has a back-up. He’s a controlling tyrant and needs everything done on his terms. Negan understands the necessity for resources and is ruthless in his mission to obtain them. Since he displays sociopathic behavior, emotions are never an issue for Negan. All of his decisions are completely based on how he can advance his goals (recruiting other groups to get supplies for the Saviors, ruling his people, and keeping his enemies in line).

Auxiliary Introverted Intuition [Ni]: When Negan needs to come up with a plan, his auxiliary function is there to assist his dominant one. He’s good at thinking in the long-term and can see how things will play out. Negan is an exceptionally good manipulator and knows exactly how to get under somebody’s skin. He spends a great deal of time reading people, understanding who they are, and using that knowledge to his advantage (Te/Ni/Fi). Negan enjoys using colorful metaphors in his conversations and speeches. He tends to be several steps ahead of other people, and knows exactly how to thwart plans he doesn’t want to see come to fruition. Negan has a grasp on the big picture and every move he makes is to benefit the Sanctuary and all those who reside there (and maintain his position as leader). His Fi and Ni can also team up to come up with unique ways or torture, such as planning to have Rick cut off his own son’s arm. He can discern a person’s weaknesses quickly and accurately and use that against them in his various mind games and psychological warfare. He was immediately able to deduce that Carl was Rick’s son, that Rosita had a relationship with Abraham, and that Rick had just “lost somebody important” to him. He is often able to tell when people are being dishonest with him and follows his hunches about people’s true motives and intentions.

Tertiary Extroverted Sensing [Se]: While Negan is definitely a tactician, he is usually able to improvise in the moment with ease. He is good at picking up on what’s happening in his environment. The data he takes in from this function allows him to support his Ni and Te. He notices what’s going on around him and exploits it in order to manipulate people. He is violent and knows how to use his physical force to intimidate, threaten, hurt, and kill. Even though he prefers to send his minions out to do his bidding, Negan has no trouble getting his hands dirty and enjoys throwing his weight around to get a rise out of people. Negan likes to make a big show of his punishments and enjoys having an audience. As psychopathic as he is, he is also quite charismatic and humorous. He can easily make jokes using the information he picks up in his environment (Se) and what he gathers from his sharp instincts (Ni).

Inferior Introverted Feeling [Fi]: Although it’s flawed and extremely unhealthy, Negan lives by a personal code of ethics that he enforces through his Te. At times, he established personal connections with people, (Carl and Sasha), and genuinely doesn’t want to hurt them. He tends to show a slightly softer side to the people he has respect for (Daryl, Carl, and Sasha). However, if he feels he’s been backed into a corner, he’ll do what he thinks he needs to do. He pushes his values onto the people around him (the Saviors, as well as the groups he colonizes) and expects them to follow along with his code. Though Negan can be brutal, savage, and sadistic, he doesn’t stand for sexual assault and if he catches his men preying on women, he will react viciously. However, he blackmails or extorts his “wives” into being with him (usually by threatening people close to them), but feels that this is acceptable, because, in his mind, they were given a choice. If one of his people dies (by someone’s hand other than his own), he takes the time to acknowledge the loss and pay respects. He doesn’t enjoy killing women, but he will if he “has to.”

Note: This typing applies to the TV character.

Enneagram: 8w7 (Probably 873 tritype)

Negan: There are rules for a reason. Nothing matters if your dead.

Negan: You know, I’m thinking, Spencer. I’m thinking how Rick threatened to kill me, how he clearly hates my guts. But he is out there right now, gathering shit for me to make sure I don’t hurt any of the fine people that live here. He is swallowing his hate and getting shit done. That takes guts. And then there’s you The guy who waited for Rick to be gone so he could sneak over and talk to me to get me to do his dirty work, so he could take Rick’s place. So I got to ask – if you wanna take over, why not just kill Rick yourself and just take over?
Spencer: What? No, no. I didn’t – I don’t…
Negan: You know what I’m thinking? ‘Cause I have a guess. [Whispering] It’s because you got no guts. [Negan disembowels Spencer] Ohh. How embarrassing. There they are. They were inside you the whole time. You did have guts. I’ve never been so wrong in my whole life!

Negan: [Over Radio] For anyone out there who loved the obese bastard as much as I did, I just want to say a few words. Fat Joey was not the most badass sonuvabitch, but he was loyal. He had a great sense of humor. In fact, we were just joking about oral sex with Lucille the other day! Things will not be the same now that he’s dead. Without Fat Joey, Skinny Joey is just
[sighs] Joey. So it’s a goddamn tragedy. So, let’s have a moment of silence.

[just as David is about to rape Sasha in her cell, Negan interrupts]
Negan: HEY! What the hell are you doin’ in here?
David: Negan, sir…
Negan: [interrupting him] D’you REALLY think I need you to answer that? I can see that you’re tryin’ to rape this woman. You… were tryin’ to rape this woman, weren’t you? Ah… this is some unacceptable behavior. Rape is against the rules here. I wouldn’t wanna be somewhere where it wasn’t. Someone in charge… who lets somethin’ like that fly… [he exhales and pulls out a knife and whispering] David… you really crossed the line here.
David: [whimpering] I’m sorry, sir.
[Negan looks at David for a moment, then stabs him through the neck]
Negan: You know what? I do not accept your apology.

Negan: You don’t scare easy. I love that!

Negan: All right, listen. Don’t any of you do that again. I will shut that shit down, no exceptions. First one’s free. It’s an emotional moment, I get it.

Negan: You see, Rick, whatever you do, no matter what, you don’t mess with the new world order. And the new world order is this, and it’s really very simple, so, even if you’re stupid, which you may very well be, you can understand it. You ready? Here goes. Pay attention.
[holds his bat up to Rick’s head] Give me your shit… or I will kill you. Today was career day. We invested in a lot, so you would know who I am and what I can do. You work for me now. You have shit, you give it to me. That’s your job. Now, I know that is a mighty big, nasty pill to swallow, but swallow it you most certainly will. You ruled the roost. You built something. You thought you were safe. I get it. But the word is out. You are not safe. Not even close. In fact, you are pegged, more pegged if you don’t do what I want. And what I want is half your shit. And if that’s too much, you can make, find, or steal more, and it’ll even out sooner or later. This is your way of life now. The more you fight back, the harder it will be. So, if someone… knocks on your door… you let us in. We own that door. You try to stop us and we will knock it down. You understand?

Negan: You don’t really think that you were gonna get through this without being punished, now, did you? I don’t want to kill you people. Just want to make that clear from the get-go. I want you to work for me. You can’t do that if you’re dead, now, can you? I’m not growing a garden. But you killed my people, a whole damn lot of them. More than I’m comfortable with. And for that, for that you’re gonna pay. So, now… I’m gonna beat the holy hell outta one of you.

Negan: Now, Dwight gave you some options. I don’t think you get it yet. So I’m gonna break it down for you. You get three choices. One. You wind up on the spike, and you work for me as a dead man. Two. You get out of your cell, you work for points, but you’re gonna wish you were dead. Or three. You work for me. You get yourself a brand new pair of shoes, and you live like a king! The choices seems pretty obvious. You should know, there is no door number four. This is it. This is the only way.

Negan: Are you cool, though, Dwight? I mean, I just said it was happy hour at the pussy bar, and Dwight eats for free… and you said no.
